Nanaimo Yacht Club Membership Information

Once you have reviewed the following information you can then complete the Nanaimo Yacht Club Membership Application Form online at www.Nanaimoyc.ca/online-membership-application-form or you can download a PDF version of the form below.  


The PDF version of the form can either be completed using Acrobat Reader (available for free from https://get.adobe.com/reader/ and emailed or filled out by hand and emailed or delivered to the Nanaimo Yacht Club. Please complete the form completely.


If you are under 40 years of age, the Nanaimo Yacht Club offers a discount for Regular Membership based on your age. Proof of age (eg copy of drivers license, passport or birth certificate) must be supplied at the time of the orientation. The Regular Membership fee is determined by the age of the Primary Member.

Membership Categories, Payments & Dues

A Member is a person who has attained the full age of 19 years, who resides in an area defined as ‘Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands in British Columbia’, who followed the prescribed procedure, paid the prescribed fees and has been accepted for membership by the Executive Committee. Membership Fees are based on the fee structure set yearly on October 1 and are subject to change without notice.


REGULAR MEMBER: A member who has paid the prescribed fees as listed in the Rules & Regulations Fee Schedule and has been accepted as a member by the Executive Committee. A regular member DOES NOT hold permanent moorage.


Regular Membership Fees + GST (if paid in full) based on age (19-25 years old - $1,200; 26-40 years old - $1800; 41 years old and older - $2,400)


A payment option is available for Regular Membership which consists of a 2-year payment plan (25% initial payment followed by 3 semi-annual payments of 25% + 10% administration fee.


MOORING MEMBER: A member who has paid the prescribed fees as listed in the Rules & Regulations Fee Schedule. Before a Regular member can become a Mooring Member, the Regular Membership fee must be paid in full. A Regular Member can only come a Mooring Member when they have been given moorage.


Mooring Member $2500 plus GST & Moorage Fees of $3.71/ft/month plus GST Outside; $6.31/ft/month plus GST Sheds.


JUNIOR MEMBER: A person from age eight years to eighteen years inclusive who has paid the prescribed fee, followed the prescribed procedure of sponsorship and responsibility and has been accepted by the Executive Committee. A Junior Member shall be entitles to all the privileges of the Club but shall not note or hold office, and shall have no interest in any property of the Club. Upon reaching the age of nineteen years, a Junior member may become a regular member is the prescribed conditions are met. A Junior Member shall not earn moorage seniority.


Junior Member - Parents are members of NYC - $25 plus GST; Junior Members - Parents are NOT members of NYC - $50 plus GST.


ASSOCIATE MEMBER: A person who has attained the full age of 19 years, who has followed the prescribed procedure and has been accepted by the Executive Committee. An Associate Member shall not vote, hold office, chair any committee, have moorage, or acquire seniority with respect to moorage, and shall have no interest in any property of the Club. They shall be entitled to attend all General Meetings and enjoy all facilities and functions at the Club, with the exception of Reciprocal clubs and outstations. If an Associate Member decides to become a Regular Member, their fee already paid will be credited towards the Regular Membership Fee.


Associate Members - $500 plus GST.
