A historic maritime city located in central Vancouver Island, Nanaimo is closely associated with the sea. The Nanaimo Yacht Club is an integral part of this community, with approximately 750 members who enjoy benefits such as a modern clubhouse and first rate moorage. By volunteering for administrative and maintenance positions, the members have achieved a 1st class facility and very attractive rates.

The Nanaimo Yacht Club is clearly indicated on the Nanaimo Harbour chart at the south end of Newcastle Channel and just north west of the main anchorage.

If you live in the Nanaimo area within 10 nautical miles of the Nanaimo Yacht Club in the area bounded by the waters of Nanoose Harbour, the Strait of Georgia, Northumberland Channel, and would like to become a member please contact us.

Racing for the Winter Series has begun and SIN is just around the corner. In no time at all, it'll be July and we'll have awesome guests to entertain. For any who would like to volunteer for any duties during SIN, please contact Ken Holland.

A basic PDF list of reciprocal clubs can be found here. The database of reciprocal yacht club website links, location and length of stay free is posted on the Yahoo groups NYC "members only" site. To access the site you must first become a Yahoo member (free). Then go to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/nanaimoyc/ to request to join. The webmistress, Elaine Wade, will approve you (as long as you include your real name somewhere!) and then you will have access to the site and the reciprocal database.  We also plan to host member discussions, post meeting minutes, and anything else you can think of that will be "members only" information.
