The Nanaimo Yacht Club welcomes all CUTTY SARK Snake Island Nanaimo Regatta racers to our docks for our annual Regatta weekend.

Our yellow shirt SIN volunteers will assist visiting race participants to free moorage for Friday to Sunday, and our volunteers will be happy to answer any questions you may have about our Regatta weekend.

Participants are encouraged to take advantage of Early Registration, by midnight June 1st and the first 25 Non NYC Early Registrants will receive an extra dinner ticket. That is a $30.00 savings!

Competitors coming from afar are offered flexible moorage options. Do you plan to arrive the weekend prior? Contact NYC. RV and vehicle parking can be arranged. Tenting on the docks is available and free of charge for competitors.

For our Saturday race start, once again we encourage all young adults, ages 5 to 18, to enter our Race Start Photo Competition, for a chance to win one of three, Juniors Sailing Lessons, courtesy of the Nanaimo Yacht Club, Juniors Sailing Program.

Join us for a fun filled Canada Day 2013 long-weekend of sailing and camaraderie at the Nanaimo Yacht Club.

  • Welcome Party at NYC Docks 1700-2300
  • Dinner on the docks: 1700-1930
  • Opti Racing: 1730-1930
  • Music on the docks: 2000-2300

Saturday, June 29

  • Breakfast: 700–900 at the clubhouse
  • Registration: 700-800
  • Skippers meeting: 830 at the clubhouse
  • NYC Regatta racing 1st warning signal in the harbour: 1020
  • BBQ steak dinner at the clubhouse: 1730–1930
  • RC Laser racing NYC docks: 1730–1930
  • Free shuttle van (every ½ hour) to and from downtown Nanaimo: 1000-2330

Sunday, June 30

  • Breakfast: 700–900 at the clubhouse
  • NYC Regatta racing warning signal: 1020
